My Village Launch Experience
Village Launch is an organization that exists to equip under-resourced entrepreneurs to become providers, creators, and producers in their communities. Joining the program in the summer of 2021 was completely outside of my comfort zone.
During the classes, I often sat quietly, taking in as much as I could—many of the concepts were entirely new to me. Each Thursday night, I would come home and retell everything I had learned, eager to process and share the knowledge. Being surrounded by phenomenal entrepreneurs, facilitators, and mentors was the highlight of the experience!
The mentors came from across the Upstate and represented a diverse range of industries: coffee shop owners, former restaurant owners, consultants, brand artists, HR professionals, commercial and fine artists, and photographers—all generously offering their wisdom and encouragement. We also had guest speakers whose businesses operated not just locally, but on a national level. The classroom quickly became an incubator for creativity—new ideas flourished, and existing ones were refined and challenged in a supportive environment.
Village Launch taught me how to pursue my dreams with both courage and strategy. It equipped me with tools, insight, and a meaningful network that continues to support me today.
